AusRegistry Group - Background
The AusRegistry Group commenced operations when the current executives found it difficult to register domain names in a cheap, efficient, customer-centric manner. Out of this was born the vision to provide Internet users with improved levels of service and competitive pricing in Domain Name registrations and the web hosting market. Conscious of the ..com bubble. bursting, the decision was made in the early development of the company not to be reliant on any one single income stream and to utilise the knowledge and skills obtained throughout its development to leverage these revenue streams and thus ensure stable and steady growth through varying market conditions.
The AusRegistry Group quickly gained skills in developing software and products designed for specific identified target markets. Careful research into what the customers wanted, and what added value for them, coupled with a strong commitment to customer service, has set AusRegistry Group apart from its competition. AusRegistry Group has set about proving that online entities need not be an investment based on risk or popularity, but can achieve solid profitability when focused on sound ideas, products, principles and the desire to achieve.
The original company RegistrarsAsia Pty Ltd. (now AusRegistry Group Pty Ltd.) commenced operations in January 2000 as a Domain Name Registration company. Operating out of Australia, AusRegistry Group (or RegistrarsAsia) established the original products providing domain name registration and related Internet services at prices that were competitive on the global market yet still offered a high level of customer service. RegistrarsAsia continues to successfully operate today as an ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers) accredited Registrar and web hosting company. In December 2001, AusRegistry Group established a new division, AusRegistry Pty Ltd.
AusRegistry Pty Ltd. was originally established to operate, under license, the Internet Domain Name Registry for Australian commercial domain names (.com.au and .net.au) along with government and education domain names. As part of this role, AusRegistry is responsible for providing the associated IT infrastructure for primary name and WhoIs servers within the .au namespace, and thus stable operation of the internet in Australia. AusRegistry.s strong focus on Registrar support, public awareness and industry accountability has seen domain name registrations in Australia double. AusRegistry has been recognised for its achievements by winning the 2002 Australian IT&T and the 2003 MYOB/Telstra Victorian Government Small Business awards. The company has since expanded and now manages the Registry services of several smaller nations.
